The end is near

Two posts in one week, can you believe it?! As you can tell, we are very excited about the completion of the house. I've updated the photos. Enjoy

FINALLY AN UPDATE

Hi Everyone

Over 2 months and no posts... the details are getting worked out and everything is coming together. We've updated some of the pictures with more to come later this week. Here is the latest on where we stand with the house:

• Alex will be done with the tile work = 1 week to go
• Celestino is almost done painting - including all of the inside doors = 1 week to go
• The roof line needs to get fixed & paint touched up
• The door knobs & hardware to be installed
• The electrician & plumber will be back in 1-2 weeks to finish hooking up the lights and fixtures
• Fence to be put up
• Concrete poured from garage into the alley

We are very excited and can not believe how fast this process went. It was painless. Always a few hiccups, but nothing major (fingers crossed). The contractor and all of the subs have been amazing. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We can't wait for the day the appliances are delivered and we can spend the first night in our house.

Hi Everyone

The drywall is up and mudded, the exterior is just about finished. We had to pick out an exterior paint color this week, so the next photos will have our house painted!!

Update!

Another monthly post to the blog...we really must get better at updating more frequently...we've been spending all our free time picking out kitchen and bathroom faucets, light fixtures and even paint samples, which I picked up today.

The house is moving along really quickly. We are four months in. The siding is going up, they are almost finished with the roof. The outside of the windows are being framed in and the insulation goes in next week and shortly after is the drywall. We are about 3 weeks out from tile work, so we really need to get a move on picking it out. They will also being the rock work around the outside colums and the fireplace once the siding is completed.

Update!

It's been a month since our last post, so you can imagine the changes that have taken place...check out the latest photos that we posted.

Here is a list of the chhhannnges:

• Most of the windows are in
• The framing is almost complete
• The drywall is delivered and ready to go
• The plumber has come and gone and the electrician starts tomorrow
• The roof is almost ready for tar paper and shingles
• The fireplace insert is in...yes I know all you who live outside Cali would say "why a fireplace in So Cal?". We SoCo's do get those few days each year, and especially the last two years, where the thermometer drops below 32 degrees....cold enough for a fire!
• We have picked the floors which we really like. We think they are really beautiful wood and we can't wait to see them installed.
• We ordered our kitchen cabinets, appliances and the other bathroom cabinets.

Next stop, tile store here we come!! (Yes I know, excited over tile shopping. What can we say)

2nd story

Just back in from a work trip and the stairs are 99.9% complete. The 2nd story framing has started. It's pretty amazing to walk up the stairs and have a completely different view of the neighborhood.

We are already super excited to move back in....maybe we should wait until one of the bathrooms and the kitchen are finished!!!

An update on the framing and foundation. We ended up choosing the new Lincoln Windows with pull down screens.....very niiiiiceee!!
